Firestone Industrial Products Co., LLC has announced it will increase prices 5% on air springs for the light-duty market, effective January 1, 2009.

According to the company, the costs of raw materials—including steel, plastic, carbon black and natural rubber--logistics, transportation and energy rose substantially in the first three quarters of 2008.

“While the cost of raw materials, energy and fuel continue to be volatile, Firestone Industrial Products strives to keep our prices as low as possible for our customers,” said Mike Cerio, president of FSIP. “By implementing programs for production enhancements and internal cost reductions, we are working to lessen the impact of increased prices on our external customers.”
