SAE International announced that it is now offering two brake seminars in its online learning format, with content accessed via the Internet or CD-ROM.

The organization has converted the classroom version of “Introduction to Brake Control Systems” to an e-seminar format. This course covers brake control system mechanization, system sensor needs, ABS, electronic stability systems (ESC) and traction control systems (TCS).

New to the SAE seminar roster is “Commercial Vehicle Braking Systems,” which focuses on understanding medium-duty hydraulic brake systems and heavy-duty air brake systems, as well as how their performance can be predicted and maintained, and federal braking regulations.

According to SAE, the e-seminars feature “full-motion video illustrated with synchronized presentation slides.” Handout materials are also included.
