International, UAW reach tentative agreement

International Truck and Engine Corp. has reached a tentative agreement with the United Auto Workers union on new three-year labor contracts, subject to ratification

International Truck and Engine Corp. has reached a tentative agreement with the United Auto Workers union on new three-year labor contracts, subject to ratification through a majority vote by UAW members, the company said.

Voting is scheduled for this weekend to replace the five-year agreements that expired on October 1st. No details of the tentative agreement have been released.

UAW and International have engaged in discussions for the past two years, with the current round of negotiations opening on August 27th before UAW called a strike on October 23rd at the nine locations covered by the expired contracts. Approximately 3,700 employees were affected.
