J.J. Keller & Associates has released an on-board recorder and web-based reporting management system and has updated its Hazardous Materials Compliance Pocketbook.

The management system has been updated with a series of hours-of-service (HOS) and performance reporting enhancements, joining a series of updates over the past several months that include driver and vehicle scorecard reports, performance summaries and annual summaries and comparisons, the company said.

The new hours-of-service upgrade allows users to maintain minute-to-minute accuracy for HOS compliance, available through the Internet or cell phone. It also provides a more intuitive log grid, Keller said.

The Hazardous Materials Compliance Pocketbook has been amended to include a new combined final rule by the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration. The rules, HM-215J and HM-224D, go into effect on Jan. 1, 2010, with some exceptions.

The pocketbook includes the §172.101 Hazardous Materials Table with a placard column to help drivers easily identify DOT-required placards, plus a list of hazardous substances, the list of marine pollutants, and the §172.102 special provisions.
