Kentucky Trailer has announced it will relocate its custom manufacturing facility, but will remain in Louisville, keeping the company’s 286 employees in the city Kentucky Trailer has operated out of since 1936.

The new facility will be located at 7201 Logistics Dr., and is expected to begin initial operations as early as the first quarter of 2009, Kentucky Trailer said. The company will sell its current property to the University of Louisville Foundation.

“We are thrilled that Kentucky Trailer will be keeping these quality jobs in Kentucky,” said Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear. “With the company’s rich tradition and history in Louisville, we wanted to be sure Kentucky Trailer had the resources they needed for continued success here in their hometown.”

Kentucky Trailer announced it was approved for $13.5 million in tax incentives from the Kentucky Industrial Revitalization Act (KIRA) to keep existing jobs and help create new jobs at the company.
