ATA conference to focus on growing with the economy

Economic recovery, the midterm Congressional elections and environmental initiatives will share the focus at the American Trucking Assns. (ATA) 2010 Management Conference & Exhibition (MC&E), slated for Oct. 16-19 in Phoenix.

The conference will also showcase new technologies and business services with more than 150 exhibitors displaying everything from trucks and engines to software and support services.

There will be a two-part general session on the new fuel economy standards for large trucks focusing on possible engine modifications and examining probable vehicle adaptations.

In total, 16 educations programs will be offered and journalist Bill Kurtis and Bob Costello, chief economist for ATA, as well as a blue-ribbon panel of economists will offer their insights into the key economic factors affecting trucking.

In addition, actor/comedian Jason Alexander, best known for his role as Geoge Costanza on Seinfeld, will perform for attendees.
