With a wide and deep tread depth, the new Bridgestone Greatec M825 wide-base drive radial from Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions (BBTS) is said to offer extended tire life and low cost per mile.

“It’s ideal for weight-conscious fleets, like bulk haulers, where the vehicle reaches its gross weight limit while there’s still cargo room left over,” said Chris Hoffman, manager, TBR & retread product marketing, BBTS. “Because Greatec M825 wide-base tires weigh less than the dual assemblies they replace, these fleets may be able to convert weight saved into extra revenue-producing payload.”

The tire features a 29/32 in tread depth that combined with the wider tread, distributes weight and torque over a wide area for longer, smoother tire life. Irregular wear is lessened through a stabilizing solid shoulder design and a stiff, staggered tread block resists heel-and-toe wear, BBTS said.

A rugged tread compound resists squirm and an aggressive tread pattern uses buttressed blocks to fight block tearing for miles of smooth wear. An optimized groove design reduces stone retention and groove bottom cracking and with straight should grooves, retreadability is enhanced, the tire maker noted. Thick shoulder ribs on both sides fight curbing damage, protecting the casing.

The M825 uses Bridgestone’s patented WavedBelt design that balances stiffness and resiliency to provide a strong, stable casing.

The tire is available in the 445/50R22.5 size with an L load rating.
