CRST International has announced that it has formed two new operating companies: CRST Dedicated Services and CRST Capacity Solutions

CRST International has announced that it has formed two new operating companies: CRST Dedicated Services and CRST Capacity Solutions. The two companies will become part of the CRST Carrier Group, which oversees CRST Van Expedited, CRST Malone and CRST Premier Transport.

The two new companies were created in response to customer and market demand, CRST said.

CRST Dedicated Services will provide customers with services ranging from a dedicated fleet to a single source dedicated truck capacity and transportation network in both the Van and Flatbed markets. Dedicated Services will be headquartered in Eldridge, IA.

CRST Capacity Solutions will provide a single source for truck capacity by utilizing its affiliation with the three CRST asset-based trucking companies as well as its network of more than 8,000 contract carriers and multi-model capacity providers. Capacity Solutions will be headquartered in Cedar Rapids, IA.

“The service offerings of Dedicated Services and Capacity Solutions have been around for many years and have been growing rapidly within CRST's three asset-based trucking companies,” said Dave Rusch, president of the CRST Carrier Group.

“Through a lot of hard work, these two service offerings have grown into multi-million dollar businesses within the individual Carrier Group Operating Companies,” Rusch continued. “It was time to establish separate entities and staff them with professional managers who will focus entirely on fostering their growth. The separate entities will be better equipped to further develop these businesses and provide our customer base with the specialized services they want.”

CRST also announced several key organizational changes as part of the restructuring. Rusch, previously president of CRST Carrier Group and COO of CRST Van Expedited, will step down from his role at CRST Van Expedited to focus solely on oversight and strategic direction of the Carrier Group.

Mike Gannon, president of the Birmingham, AL-based CRST Malone, will replace Rusch as president of CRST Van Expedited. Gannon has been with CRST for 23 years.

Scott Shephard will be president of CRST Malone. Shephard was previously president of Economy Transport, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Universal Truckload Services, Inc.
