Construction crews will close all lanes of I-405 north and southbound between SR 167 and SR 169 from 2 a.m., Saturday, July 10 until 11 a.m. Sunday, July 11, according to a bulletin issued by the Washington State DOT (WSDOT) yesterday.
The closure is expected to affect all traffic on state highways in the greater Seattle and Bellevue, WA areas including I-5, I-405, SR 167, I-90 and SR 520 as drivers will have to use alternate routes to avoid the closure.
To help manage traffic, WSDOT plans to deliver updated congestion and work progress information via the Internet, radio, TV news, Highway Advisory Radio and overhead electronic signs; operate the I-5 express lanes in the northbound direction and the I-90 express lanes in the westbound direction throughout the 33-hour closure; and provide a 24-hour informational hotline.
Congestion is expected to be severe.
