Beginning this week, truckers can expect lane closures in off-peak hours on I-270 between the Capital Beltway and Old Georgetown Rd. in Bethesda, MD, as the Maryland State Highway Administration starts work on a $2.9 million highway resurfacing project.

The highway serves more than 120,000 motorists daily, according to a report in the Bethesda Patch.

The following lane closures can be expected to continue into the summer of 2012:

• Northbound I-270: Single-lane closures are planned between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., Monday through Friday. Double lane closures are expected between midnight and 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday.
