Missouri DOT warns of potential traffic delays

The Missouri Dept. of Transportation has issued several alerts for road projects in Jackson County that could cause traffic delays throughout the area.

• I-670: Bridge construction will close the ramp from westbound I-670 to Broadway from Aug 3-23. In addition, North Truman Road at Baltimore and the Broadway exit to south Truman Road will close Aug. 3 through Aug. 23.

• I-435: Striping will close various lanes on northbound I-435 between I-70 and Route 78 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Aug 4-5. In addition, the ramp from westbound I-70 to northbound I-435 will also close.

• Route 50: Intersection improvements and turn lane construction will close the left lane of east and westbound Route 50 between Noel Road and Route 150. In addition, the intersection of Route 50 and Hutt Road will be closed through Aug. 26.

• Route V (Bannister): Pavement repair will reduce Route V (Bannister Road) to one lane between Route 350 and Route 40 from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Aug. 15. Traffic will move through the area using a flagging operation.

• Route 50: Resurfacing will restrict traffic, closing one lane of Chipman Road in each direction between Murray St and NW Blue Parkway from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Aug 5-6. In addition, the on and off ramps at Route 50 and Chipman will face temporary closures during the overlay work.

• Route 291 South (Jefferson Street): Resurfacing will restrict traffic on southbound Route 291 (Jefferson St) in Lee’s Summit between 6th Street and Hwy 50 from 7:30 p.m. Aug. 5 to 5:30 a.m. Aug. 6.

•Route 150: Grading and paving will close Pryor Road north of Route 150 through Aug. 18.

• Route 350: Bridge construction will close Blue Ridge Blvd (Cutoff) at Route 350 from through Sept 27.

• Route 350: Bridge construction will close 67th Street over Route 350 through Sept 1.

• I-70: New pavement construction will close the ramps from southbound I-435 to westbound I-70 on Aug. 4-19, northbound I-435 to westbound I-70 through Aug. 19, and westbound I-70 to Manchester Trafficway through Aug. 4.

• Route 50: Construction to install turn lanes at Route 50 intersections of Buckner-Tarsney and Harris Road will close the left lane and the crossover on eastbound and westbound Route 50 between Smart Road and Noel Road through Aug. 10.

• I-435: Guard cable installation at night will close the left lane of north and southbound I-435 between 87th and the Blue River from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Sept 19.

•Route 150: Intersection reconstruction will close Arboridge Drive north of Route 150 through Aug. 31.

• Route 150: Intersection reconstruction will close Harbor Circle south of Route 150 through Aug. 31.

* Route 7: Bridge deck replacement and rehabilitation will close Route 7 just north of Milton Thompson Road at the Big Rock Creek west of Lake Lotawana through Aug. 15.

• I-670: Bridge maintenance will close a lane of east and westbound I-670 between I-35 and Main St from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Sept. 9.

• Sterling Avenue: Bridge work on I-70 above Sterling Avenue will restrict Sterling at times through Aug. 31.

• Route 40: Bridgework will close the ramp from westbound Route 40 to I-70 through Aug. 31.

• I-435: Shoulder work will restrict traffic on northbound and southbound I-435 between Route 78 and Stadium Drive from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. westbound and to 6 p.m. eastbound through Nov. 1, 2011.

• I-70: New pavement construction will restrict traffic on eastbound and westbound I-70 between 31st Street and Sterling Avenue from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Nov. 1.

• Route 24: Resurfacing will close a lane of Route 24 in either direction between Route 224 and Twyman Road through Sept. 1.

• Route W: Bridgework will reduce traffic to one lane on east and westbound Route W in a head-to-head configuration between Troost Ave. and Blue River Road through September.
