Paccar makes $2 million educational donation

Truck OEM Paccar is giving $2 million to Gonzaga University to build a new science center to be named the “Paccar Center for Applied Science.” Paccar is the owner of Peterbilt Motors and Kenworth Truck in North America, as well as DAF Trucks and Leyland Trucks in Europe.

“We’ve always been committed to supporting educational excellence through donations to universities, independent college funds and various scholarship programs,” said Mark Pigott, Paccar’s chairman & CEO.

He noted that the company has provided over $14 million in educational grants and donations in just the past three years alone, including $1.5 million given to the University of North Texas in 2006 to create the Paccar Technology Institute and Paccar Professorship of Engineering.
