The weigh-station bypass system PrePass can also be used for proprietary fleet applications like controlling access to terminals and other gated facilities, according to HELP Inc., the manager of the system.
The onboard transceiver that allows PrePass users to wirelessly clear weigh stations and pay tolls can screen vehicles and open access gates for approved vehicles with PrePass Gates, a fully-integrated access management system that interfaces with existing fleet management software.
The system identifies and records the time and date of all vehicles entering or exiting a terminal, allowing fleets to better track truck locations, according to HELP. The Gates software can also be managed allowing a single user to administer access for hundreds of vehicles to multiple facilities nationwide.
