According to a news item posted on IndustryWeek.com, U.S. productivity has dipped for the first time since 2008—however productivity in the manufacturing sector grew in the second quarter.

Productivity of U.S. companies fell 0.9% in the second quarter, the Labor Dept. said yesterday, yet manufacturing sector productivity grew 4.5% in the second quarter as output rose 8.3% and hours worked increased 3.6%.
