Highway safety within Tennessee will receive a financial boost during the Tennessee Trucking Assn.’s (TTA) 79th Convention Sept. 13-15. The organization’s charitable arm, the Tennessee Trucking Foundation (TTF) will conduct a live silent auction at the event, with all proceeds going to promote highway safety education.
The auction includes several big-ticket items and one-of-a-kind experiences, including a refurbished 2005 Volvo VNL-65-T670 tractor. The sleeper, donated by Nacarato Volvo & GMC Trucks, is a double-bunk high-rise and includes an extended warranty donated by NTP Warranty, new seats from National Seating Co., tires from Michelin and includes a fifth wheel from Jost International and transportation to the convention from Covenant Transport.
But that’s not the only item of interest. Also being auctioned is a trip in a Bombardier Lear45XR jet to a New Orleans Saints football game. The trip is being donated by Bombardier and Farris Evans Insurance. Other auction items include an 18-month lease for a 2010 ProStar tractor from International Truck and Engine, a $10,000 TAG Truck Center gift certificate for parts, services, APUs or even to cover an outstanding bill, a $10,000 gift certificate for parts and services to Freightliner dealership Neely Coble Co.; a ClimaCab electric APU donated by Cummins Crosspoint; a Webasto BlueCool combo kit donated by Rush Truck Center and a variety of Bandag tires contributed by Best One Tire.
