Truck and engine manufacturer Paccar recently donated a Peterbilt Model 387 truck to East Mississippi Community College (EMCC) for use in the school’s commercial vehicle drivers’ training program.
Lex Lemmers, engine plant manager for Paccar, said the donation is part of the company’s effort to help generate the skilled employees it will need to staff its new $400- million, 400,000-sq-ft engine plant being built in nearby Columbus, MS.
“We have been working closely with EMCC developing extensive training programs for future Paccar employees,” said Lance Walters, assistant plant manager. “We have established offices at EMCC and are pleased to be able to utilize these excellent facilities and work with their professional staff of educators.”
