Peterbilt Motors Co. has produced its 300,000th truck at its Denton, TX plant, delivering the Model 387 vehicle to Witte Brothers Exchange, Inc. during a ceremony yesterday.
The OEM produced its first vehicle at the facility in August 1980, a white Model 359 truck. Currently, all seven of Peterbilt’s heavy-duty truck models are manufactured at the Denton plant.
“Peterbilt is proud to celebrate this important milestone with Witte Brothers Exchange, as both of our companies share an unwavering commitment to the transportation industry, our employees, and a superior product,” said Bill Jackson, Peterbilt gm & Paccar vp. “The 300,000th truck produced, a Peterbilt Model 387, signifies the attributes of Peterbilt past, present and future through its fuel efficient design, while not comprising the class and style that have become synonymous with the Peterbilt brand.”
