“Safety pays” will take on added meaning as Volvo Trucks North America (VTNA) plans to split $50,000 in prize money between two fleets that come up with the best driving records. The money will be earmarked to fund safety activities at the winning fleets, says Scott Kress, VTNA senior vice president of sales and marketing.

The two grand prizes will be awarded to the fleets with the best records in two divisions based on annual vehicle miles traveled — less than 10 million mi. and over 10 million mi. Deadline for entry is June 30, with the winners to be announced in the fall. Rules and entry forms can be found at www.volvotruckssafetyaward.com.
