Kenworth of Buffalo recently opened two new full-service facilities, in Rochester and Syracuse NY, in part to greatly its parts inventory to better support customers.

“The new Rochester facility will be much easier for drivers to maneuver since it has a significantly larger parking lot,” said Dan Penksa, vp & gm for Kenworth of Buffalo. “We’ll also be able to keep more parts on hand for customers’ trucks with a 7,000 sq-ft parts warehouse – three times the warehouse size at our former location. This new parts warehouse, one of the area’s largest of its kind, will also serve as the warehouse for our Lackawanna and Syracuse area locations.”

He added that the 25,000 sq-ft Rochester facility has 10 service bays with room to service 18 trucks at once, while the 7,800 sq-ft Syracuse area location includes four service bays and can service nine trucks at once. The two facilities also feature a lounge and waiting area with large flat-screen television, vending machines and ATM, and wireless Internet access for drivers to unwind or catch up on correspondence while their trucks are being serviced.

Penksa also noted that Kenworth’s expanded line of medium-duty should be well received in the larger area Kenworth of Buffalo now serves. “We think that Kenworth’s Class 6 trucks will be popular because of a recent change in New York statutes allowing drivers without Commercial Driver’s Licenses to operate trucks equipped with air brakes weighing up to 26,000 lbs,” he said.
