LOUISVILLE, KY. A lighter and more durable mechanical detachable gooseneck trailer (MG) was introduced this week at thehere by Trail King.
The MG features aluminum cross members and outer rails as standard equipment, improving corrosion resistance. The aluminum also reduces the weight of the trailer up to 1,000 lbs. compared to previous models.
The standard cross members in the main deck are 8-in. I-beams alternating with 4-in I-beams for 12-in. spacing in the outer bays, Trail King said. Aluminum cross members and aluminum box beam cross members are available as options to accommodate optional aluminum pullouts
Standard equipment on the trailer includes a reinforced gooseneck; removable gooseneck rollers; air-activated positive self-locking pin for the gooseneck; bent-style D-rings and outrigger brackets; adjustable ride height control; and wide load sign, flag and strobe light brackets.
The trailer includes four steel main I-beams made from a one-piece web and flange material that is welded on all four sides to protect from rust and corrosion.
The new wheel area, where the deck and the wheel area are both primed and painted separately before being huck bolted together for maximum corrosion resistance, the company said. The wheel area is also designed with a longer and deeper mini-boom trough to better accommodate the hitches on agriculture equipment.
The MG is available in 60,000, 75,000, and 90,000 lb. capacities.
