American Tire Distributors (ATD) is expanding its Salt Lake City operation by relocating to a new distribution center

One of the nation’s largest independent suppliers of tires, wheels, equipment and related supplies to the replacement tire market – American Tire Distributors (ATD) – is expanding its Salt Lake City operation by relocating to a new distribution center.

ATD said its new 115,000 sq.-ft. facility will nearly quadruple its distribution capacity. It will also use a warehouse management system to improve inventory accuracy, ATD said.

The company also plans to implement a computerized routing system with GPS receivers on all delivery trucks to permit tracking of orders from door to door, said Richard Johnson, ATD’s chairman & CEO.
