Cat taps SPX for DPF cleaners

SPX Service Solutions has announced a joint development agreement with Caterpillar Inc. for its Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Cleaning Tool

SPX Service Solutions has announced a joint development agreement with Caterpillar Inc. for its Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Cleaning Tool. SPX Solutions will be the sole provider of the DPF Cleaning Tool, and has access to Caterpillar’s technology patents for the product.

Caterpillar began internal development of such a tool in early 2004. Caterpillar afterwards teamed up with SPX to develop a commercial solution. Together the companies designed the tool to provide electronic control of the DPF cleaning process.
