Chevron debuts tougher gear lube

LOUISVILLE, KY -- Chevron introduced Delo Synthetic Gear Lubricant SAE 75W-90 at the Mid-America Trucking Show, developed for use in rear axles and differentials in the commercial marketplace.

The lubricant also meets SHAES 256 Rev C, a new spec developed by Dana for improved performance in subzero temperatures. According to Chevron, customers can expect improved equipment durability, fewer churning losses and fuel economy gains— particularly at low operating temperatures.

Chevron said the new Delo synthetic gear lube provides the following benefits:

• Extended drain capabilities
• Exceptional performance in a wide range of operating temperatures
• Excellent thermal and oxidation stability
• Meets all OEM specifications and warranty requirements

Chevron’s new Delo Truck also made its debut at Mid-America this week. A 2007 Volvo VT880 hauls a customized trailer that houses the company’s D-Lab, an interactive educational exhibit showcasing Delo products and information on issues such as lubrication technology and correct use of engine oils, lubricants and coolants.

The high-tech interactive exhibit includes digital graphics, light and sound effects, as well as a virtual “host,” to provide an experience that is entertaining as well as informative.

The 625-hp. 18-wheeler will take the D-Lab to truck stops, dealers and distributors across the country.
