Houson-based ConocoPhillips Co. announced the availability of a new CJ-4 premium heavy-duty diesel engine oil under its Kendall Motor Oil brand.

Called Kendall Super-D XA, for exhaust advantage, the synthetic blend was developed to meet the new API spec for oil used in ’07 low-emissions engines with aftertreatment devices.

However, Super-D XA is backward-compatible, and can also be used on pre-’07 engines.

According to ConocoPhillips, the premium oil, which “surpasses the minimum specs” of the new CJ-4 category, incorporates unique additive technology and the Kendall Analysis System (KAS).
