Dedicated buys Baker’s

Privately held Dedicated Transport, LLC has acquired Baker’s Transport Service for an undisclosed sum.

Baker’s Transport Service provides bulk trucking services to water treatment and power generating plants throughout Florida. Frank Wagner, president & CEO of Dedicated, said his company plans to retain Baker’s management and its 20 drivers, as well as hire an additional 10 drivers over the next year.

“Baker’s … serves a unique niche market that we hope to replicate elsewhere in the country,” he said. “We are excited about this acquisition because we were able to retain good employees with a great work ethic. It also fits our southeastern growth strategy, which calls for us to acquire a number of mid-size trucking companies over the next few years.”
