DHL opens Louisville terminal

Express carrier DHL is opening a new $2.7 million 64,000 sq.-ft. service center at the Louisville International Airport in Kentucky to provide pickup and delivery services. The facility will cover the Louisville metro area, east to Indiana and south to cities along the Tennessee border.

DHL said its new Louisville service center will handle a wide variety of shipments, including domestic and international parcels as well as palletized, loose-load and container freight. It will employ 125 and will process shipments 50% faster than its previous operation, with 84 load positions to accommodate more vehicles and volumes of freight, DHL added.
