Diesel hits $3.66 a gallon Mar 6, 2008 2:47 PM According to data compiled by the U.S. Energy Information Administration, average diesel prices rose 11 cents to $3.66 a gallon for the week of March 4th, amounting to a gain of $.38 in the past three weeks. advertisement The biggest jump in price was in the Central Atlantic region, which has overtaken New England as the most expensive area in the country, at $3.83 a gallon. The cheapest area for diesel continues to be the Rocky Mountain area, with an average price of $3.57 per gallon. Crude oil has hit $104 a barrel due to supply, which has fallen more than 3.1 million barrels from the previous week, according to published reports. |
