Freightliner LLC has named Marc F. Gustafson president of American LaFrance Corp., its fire and emergency apparatus subsidiary.
Gustafson served as president & CEO of Volvo Trucks North America from 1996-2001 and was head of sales and marketing for Mack Trucks Inc. from 1992-1996. Prior to that, he was a multi-franchise dealer of heavy-duty trucks in the southeastern U.S.
"Marc is a proven leader in the North American commercial vehicle manufacturing industry who is highly capable of taking American LaFrance to the next level of performance," said Rainer E. Schmueckle, president & CEO of Freightliner.
Gustafson is charged with improving North Charleston, SC-based American LaFrance's market and financial performance amidst difficult market conditions while building on investments in product, facilities and customer support.
Gustafson succeeds Don Stewart, who had served as president of American LaFrance since March 2001.
