BNSF, Ferromex re-route Mexican intermodal traffic

The Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway Company (BNSF) and its Mexico City-based railroad partner Ferrocarril Mexicano (Ferromex) have re-routed their joint transborder intermodal service through El Paso Texas to improve freight transit times between major U.S./Canadian markets and Mexico. The Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway Company (BNSF) and its Mexico City-based railroad partner Ferrocarril Mexicano (Ferromex) have re-routed their joint transborder intermodal service through El Paso Texas to improve freight transit times between major U.S./Canadian markets and Mexico.

Fort Worth, TX-based BNSF said this joint intermodal service would continue to target over-the-road truck freight moving between Guadalajara or Mexico City, in Mexico, and major North American markets -- including Southern California, Northern California, Chicago, Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York City and major Canadian markets.
