ChemLogix LLC, a supplier of chemical logistics and inventory-management services based in Plymouth Meeting, PA, and Manugistics Group, a Rockville, MD-based logistics software provider, have teamed up to offer their services as a single package.

Manugistics' logistics systems will be used to help power ChemLogix's Transportation Management Center (TMC), which provides mid-market chemical manufacturers and distributors with Internet-based access to transportation technology used by larger producers and distributors.

Manugistics said its logistics systems combined with Chemlogix's TMC will allow chemical companies to reduce costs by consolidating loads, make the right mode selection, reduce phone and fax time by electronically tendering loads and communicating with carriers, as well as automatically reconciling and paying freight bills.
