Consolidated Metco Inc. (ConMet) announced today it has entered into a multi-year marketing and technology agreement with Georg Fischer Vekehrstechnik GmbH of Germany and Amsted Maxion Fundicão e Equipamentos Ferroviários S.A. in Brazil to manufacture and distribute fifth wheels.

Under this partnership the companies will share the following benefits:

  • Development of global fifth wheels tailored to continental markets

  • Cross-marketing of products and development of new products releated to fifth wheels

  • Sharing of engineering and testing resources

  • Exchange of technology in electronic sensing, materials and other new product areas

  • Common sales and product interfaces for heavy commercial vehicle OEMs worldwide

“This agreement enables all three companies to expand their fifth wheel business,” said Ed Oeltjen, ConMet president. “We will share technical expertise in product development, marketing support, and service to deliver world class products to the trucking industry throughout the world.”
