The average price at the pump for a gallon of diesel fuel dropped 2.4 cents this week to its lowest price since January 20, according to the U.S. Dept. of Energy.

The department's Energy Information Administration said the average price fell to $1.484, which is 28.7 cents less that it was when it reached an all-time high eight weeks ago.

At $1.635, New England has the highest price at the pump, and is the only region above the $1.60 mark.

The Gulf Coast average dropped to $1.39, and the region is the only one below $1.40.
