The average price at the pump for a gallon of diesel fuel fell 1.4 cents this week, and is 2.7 cents lower than it was two weeks ago, the Dept. of Energy said Monday.

The department's Energy Information Administration said that the average price at the pump is $1.442. It was $1.469 on October 21.

The highest prices are still in the West. California drivers are paying $1.549 a gallon, while West Coast drivers overall are paying $1.521.

The Lower Atlantic and Gulf Coast regions both fell to $1.394 from $1.407 and $1.417, respectively.
