Freightliner LLC has recognized 26 suppliers and 36 facilities with the company’s annual Masters of Quality award, its highest recognition for suppliers providing parts and components for Freightliner, Sterling, Western Star, American LaFrance and Thomas Built Buses vehicles.
The 2004 awards went to companies in the U.S. with operations in 13 states, three suppliers in Mexico and two in Canada. Of the plants that received the award, the Consolidated Metco Inc. plant in Monroe, NC was recognized for the 14th straight year, while PA-based East Penn Manufacturing Co. Inc. scored perfectly in supplier evaluation in all categories for eight consecutive quarters. Freightliner noted seven plants from its supplier base became first-time winners this year.
