Combining acquisition, financing and disposition with wireless trailer tracking and mobile maintenance, GE Tip says it is now offering a cradle-to-grave trailer and asset management service.

The “integrated trailer fleet management service” starts with a menu of acquisition and financing options that range from daily rental and outright purchase, according to Scott Nelson, vp of sales.

Tracking services are being handled by GE VeriWise, an untethered tracking system introduced last April. The system uses a LEO (low-earth orbit) satellite network for complete two-way communications throughout North America.

The company’s mobile maintenance service is designed for trailers on dedicated runs that rarely get back to fleet facilities. It currently has 350 fully equipped trucks providing routine maintenance and repairs, and plans to add another 120 over the next year.

At the final end of the trailer life-cycle, GE Tip provides remarketing at no charge to its customers, Nelson says. Those services include national marketing and transportation as well as financing options for potential buyers.
