Petro Stopping Centers has installed IdleAire Technology’s truck electrification system in four of its locations in Atlanta, GA, Knoxville, TN, West Memphis, AR and Santa Nella, CA. IdleAire has started construction at two other Petro locations in El Paso on I-10 and near Birmingham, AL, on I-59.

Fleets with agreements with IdleAire pay $1.25 per hour to use the electrification system to power central heat and air, and a range of communications and entertainment services in the truck cab without the need for idling. The only retrofit required is a $10 window adapter.

“Petro gave IdleAire the opportunity to perform in a real truck parking lot environment and we were able to learn a lot from that experience that we are applying as we deploy nationally,” said IdleAire COO David Everhart.
