International Partners with ArvinMeritor on Axles, Brakes

International Truck and Engine Corporation has selected ArvinMeritor’s Commercial Vehicle Systems (CVS) business group to supply front axles, rear axles, air brakes, and automatic slack adjusters as standard databook position for the International® 9000i-Series (linehaul) tractors and International 5000i-Series (vocational) vehicles.

The partnership supplies International facilities with front and rear axles, brakes, hubs and drums, suspensions, wheel-speed sensors, and shock absorbers. International plants in Garland, Texas and Chatham, Ontario receive individual axles and brakes from ArvinMeritor’s Asheville, N.C., and Tilbury, Ontario plants in the arrangement.

This partnership allows International and ArvinMeritor to continue to collaborate closely to deliver on customer needs such as weight reduction, reduced maintenance costs, and improved reliability and durability in specific applications, company officials said.
