Intra Technologies and TRW Automotive Electronics & Components GmbH & Co. KG have signed a long term supply agreement for a new vehicle door control module that is currently standard on several Volvo Truck AB vehicle platforms, and may soon be implemented on other Volvo platforms as well as those of other OEMs.

The module is the primary controller for the vehicle windows, mirrors and door locks, and is much more compact and cost efficient, relative to features and performance, than controllers currently used in most trucks, said Intra Technologies.

Intra Technologies develops DC power-management solutions based on its proprietary semiconductor technologies that allow better, more efficient management of DC current flow.

"Our expertise in DC power microcontrollers was needed because the physical size requirements of the product were much smaller than anything available at the time," said Intra Technologies president Aly Jetha. "TRW is an ideal partner to launch the product because of their ability to manufacture the units in high volume at low cost."
