Knight Transportation Inc. has announced that its revenue, income from operations and net income for the quarter ended December 31 all increased versus the same quarter 2000. The Phoenix-based truckload carrier said revenue before fuel surcharge increased 15.5% to $65,149,000 from $56,391,000 for the same quarter of 2000. For the year, revenue, before the fuel surcharge, increased 16.5% to $241,679,000
Knight Transportation Inc. has announced that its revenue, income from operations and net income for the quarter ended December 31 all increased versus the same quarter 2000.

The Phoenix-based truckload carrier said revenue before fuel surcharge increased 15.5% to $65,149,000 from $56,391,000 for the same quarter of 2000. For the year, revenue, before the fuel surcharge, increased 16.5% to $241,679,000 from $207,406,000.

For the quarter, income from operations increased 35.3% to $11,694,000 from $8,645,000 for the same period in 2000. For the 12 months, income from operations increased 23.5% to $39,552,000 from $32,023,000 for the same period in 2000.

Net income per diluted share for the quarter increased 35.7% to 19 cents, compared to 14 cents per diluted share for the same quarter last year. Net income per diluted share for the year increased 22.9% to 64 cents before giving effect to a one-time, pre-tax, non-cash write-off of $5.7 million relating to a minority investment made in a communications company during 1998 and 1999.
