Mineta launches transportation career contest

Mineta today called upon the nation's high school students to design a website that will introduce their peers to career possibilities in the transportation field. "It is crucial that we help encourage America's young people to examine the many career opportunities available in transportation," Mineta said. "Good transportation is a powerful economic engine, so America's continued prosperity and economic growth in this century depend on the skill, vision and talent of today's students."

The contest theme is "Exciting Career Opportunities in Transportation." The contest entry deadline is March 15, 2002, and the winners will be announced in April. There will be regional and national team winners.
