National Transportation Exchange (NTE), an online freight-matching service, said it has increased its membership 50% since the start of this year – climbing from 1,000 to 1,500 members since January. At its current growth rate, NTE said it expects to double its membership in less than a year.
NTE added that obtaining membership is not an easy process. Companies must agree to comply with governing rules for NTE’s online trading community. Shippers must be in good financial standing and agree to live load and unload responsibilities within an hour of a truck’s arrival. Carriers must have proper insurance limits and safety records, and meet other requirements, said NTE.
