Penske Logistics has opened a 100,000 square foot distribution center in Los Indios, TX, adjacent to another Penske facility totaling 208,000 square feet opened earlier this year.
The company said 75,000 square feet of the new center’s capacity is dedicated to servicing Panasonic Automotive Electronics, providing transportation and distribution center management to Panasonic’s manufacturing operations in Mexico. Penske said its partnership with Panasonic in South Texas began with a contract awarded last year to manage two Panasonic facilities in Brownsville, TX.
Penske Logistics, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Penske Truck Leasing, specializes in transportation management, distribution management and integrated logistics. Penske Truck Leasing is a joint venture of Penske Corporation and GE Capital, operating some 206,000 heavy-, medium-, and light-duty trucks and earning some $3.4 billion in revenues.
