Roadway Express Inc. has introduced what it calls an enhanced Time-Critical Services product. According to the carrier, it will provide greater flexibility and availability by combining speed of transit with precise pickup and delivery times, online capabilities and availability throughout North America.

Time-Critical Services allows a customer to choose the specific day and time as specific as a one-hour window for their shipment delivery. The service also offers a precision pickup option that allows the customer to specify the exact one-hour window for freight pickup. Roadway will guarantee making these service commitments or no invoice will be sent.

The advanced online features available through the customer-centric website allow self-service convenience to shippers with a need for time-definite services. The customer can get a quote and transit times, schedule pickups, print bills of lading, track the shipment in real time online or receive e-mails through eTracking on the status of the shipment.

"The immediacy and customized movement of information provides tangible value for our customers," said vp of marketing, William Michael. "We now have the most comprehensive, user-friendly, guaranteed, time-definite services available in North America.”
