Roadway's revenue rises

Roadway Corp. said its first-quarter revenues of $754,070,000 were 26% greater than they were the same period last year. The company reported income from continuing operations of $7,863,000 compared to a loss from continuing operations of $1,873,000, and net income of $8,010,000 compared to net loss of $1,749,000 for the first quarter of 2002. Roadway Corp. said its first-quarter revenues of $754,070,000 were 26% greater than they were the same period last year.

The company reported income from continuing operations of $7,863,000 compared to a loss from continuing operations of $1,873,000, and net income of $8,010,000 compared to net loss of $1,749,000 for the first quarter of 2002.

Roadway said its consolidated operating margin improved 2.1 points to 97.3 and its consolidated operating income increased five-fold over the same period a year ago.
