Rush records slight 1Q loss

Rush Enterprises Inc., a conglomerate of Peterbilt dealerships, said its first-quarter revenue of $159.6 million was a 1.8% decrease from gross revenues of $162.6 million reported for the first quarter of last year. Income from continuing operations was $873,000 compared to $1.1 million in the first quarter of 2002. Net income for the quarter was $326,000 compared with net income of $434,000 in the

Income from continuing operations was $873,000 compared to $1.1 million in the first quarter of 2002. Net income for the quarter was $326,000 compared with net income of $434,000 in the same quarter last year.

The company recorded a net loss from discontinued operations of $547,000 in the first quarter. The loss consists primarily of operating costs incurred in the liquidation and closing of the Company's retail center in Hockley, TX.

Rush's heavy-duty truck segment recorded revenues of $156.3 million in the first quarter compared to $152 million in the first quarter of 2002.
