LAS VEGAS. At the International Trucking Show, Safefreight Technology USA unveiled its new SecurityGuard Asset Tracker (SGAT) cargo security system.

According to Curtis Serna, company founder & CEO, the real-time trailer alarm system prevents unauthorized removal or unloading of cargo. He said the "trailer-focused" alarm and tracking system immediately notifies pre-determined key contacts should a security breech occur, either an attempt to move the trailer or remove its contents.

Serna pointed out that the system's "local deterrence" consists of a 126 db audible and strobe-light alarm system. He said insurance companies and law-enforcement agencies recommend the SGAT over tehcnology that simply focuses on recovery of the trailer after the cargo has already been stolen.

"The integration of 24/7 Internet tracking into the SecurityGuard will provide fleet managers with the added benefit of being able to better manage their trailer assets in order to minimize downtime between loads and improve efficiencies," said Serna. "Ultimately, it will lead to a stronger bottom line for fleet owners."
