Dana Corp.’s Commercial Vehicle Systems Div. has made “across-the-board improvements” to its line of Dana Spicer Integral Arm steer axles.

Key improvements include a two-drawkey and spring washer kingpin retention system along with a new, more robust beam-forging design. Dana said this results in “improved total vehicle alignment capability, better axle durability and reduced maintenance.”

Also new is a patented Power Rib beam that Dana said provides lighter weight and improves handling during braking.

And the axles now carry as standard the patented compressible kingpin inserts that previously were offered as part of an LMS (Low Maintenance System) steer package option. This allows extending lube intervals in linehaul applications up to one year or 100,00 miles.
