According to Atro, such bushings are supplied to OEMs for use within the trailing arm of air-ride suspensions. The company said its urethane bushing does not require greasing the spring eye on steer-axle spring hangers.
Atro explained the bushing features its “free-rotation” design that chemically bonds the urethane to the outer sleeve but not to the inner sleeve or pin. It said this makes frees the bushing from the “twisting and tearing action” that affects other bushing types and extends its life.
Atro has also rolled out a new aftermarket product, a urethane bolster spring for use on Hendrickson HN suspensions.
The firm said its Atro p/n HS10000 (set of four0 springs are 14 lbs. lighter per four-spring set, are stronger in a tensile pull test and better performing in high to overload conditions.
