Internet-based logistics company Transplace.com is working with software-maker iFLEET Inc. to obtain software to track emergency action services and preventative maintenance scheduling. The deal covers more than 230,000 power units that operate for Transplace, the company said.

“Transplace and iFleet will begin to collaborate on the performance of repair vendors by measuring quality, price and response time of the services provided. This type of program will reduce the total cost of maintenance repairs to our members,” said Jun-Sheng Li, president and CEO of Transplace, which is jointly owned by Covenant Transport, J.B. Hunt Transport, M.S. Carriers, Swift Transportation, U.S. Xpress and Werner Enterprises.

Repair maintenance for those units can be managed in two ways via iFleet’s system. Customers may use a toll-free, 24-hour phone number to contact a Transplace representative who will identify the closest strategic maintenance provider and facilitate a timely repair. Also, Transplace will provide access to systems, operated by iFleet, to enable customers to manage repairs at a lower cost through a strategic network of vendors.

Atlanta-based iFleet manages more than 1.3-million transactions per year, assisting truckers and motorists in distress.
