" The attacks on innocent American civilians and military personnel is a national tragedy," said Charles R. Williamson, Unocal’s CEO. "By these donations, we hope to assist immediate efforts now under way to help our fellow citizens whose lives have been disrupted by these heinous acts."

Williamson added that Unocal, which explores for and produces natural gas and crude oil, does not perceive any specific threats to its global operations or activities.

"We are maintaining a higher level of security alert and have completed an operational check to be sure that our employees and facilities are safe," Williamson said.
